About Yellow Metal Bees®
Yellow Metal Bees® is an Annapolis-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to honeybee stewardship, native pollinator habitat restoration, environmental education, and community-based conservation.
Founded in 2026, our work combines responsible apiary management, native habitat projects, and the development of beekeeping education focused on honeybee biology, hive management, and seasonal colony care.
To advance honeybee stewardship, restore native pollinator habitat, and provide environmental education through the principles and practices of responsible beekeeping.
Our Mission
Our Approach
We manage honeybee colonies through routine inspections, seasonal care, and ongoing health monitoring. Our focus is responsible hive management that supports colony well-being and the long-term development of our apiary.
Responsible Honeybee Stewardship
Native Habitat & Long-Term Maintenance
We develop native pollinator habitat with plants selected for local growing conditions and seasonal forage. Each project includes planning for establishment and continued maintenance to support native bees, butterflies, and other wildlife.
Beekeeping Education & Community Partnerships
We are developing educational opportunities focused on honeybee biology, hive equipment, safe beekeeping practices, and seasonal colony care. Local partnerships help provide the resources needed to introduce young people and community members to responsible beekeeping.
Our vision is to grow Yellow Metal Bees® into a statewide resource for responsible honeybee stewardship, practical beekeeping education, and native pollinator habitat restoration. We plan to expand our apiary, develop learning opportunities for young people and aspiring beekeepers, and build partnerships that support lasting conservation projects throughout Maryland.

Based in Annapolis within the Severn River watershed, Yellow Metal Bees® brings together honeybee stewardship, native pollinator habitat restoration, and beekeeping education. Our work begins locally, with a long-term vision of expanding our programs and community partnerships throughout Maryland.
